Not This Time Lyrics
What it's about: A woman declares her independence from her possessive/domineering/abusive (pick one) lover.
Running time: 3:41
The Big Sky entered the UK chart in the second week of its release at #39.  It peaked at #37 one week later, on May 17, 1986.  It held that position for one week, and spent a total of three weeks on the chart.
The Special Single Mix of The Big Sky opens with (synth) strings in the background (that sound like cellos), and it fades out approximately :16 earlier than the original LP/CD mix.  The LP/CD version doesn't have the synths, but it has background vocals which are not readily audible on the Special Single Mix.  The single mix has replaced the original LP/CD version on the Fish People reissues and iTunes.  (Info courtesy of Blackbird Braille.)
The UK & US 12" EPs also include an additional non-LP track: an extended version of The Big Sky called the Meteorological Mix.
